Agreed but with Nominet no email notifications get sent (from what we get through) and some times the email notifications are done by the domain reseller as a selling tool.

We did put forward the idea of if someone has the domain extension .co.uk they should be allow X amount of days to be able to buy that domain before public release.

Maybe one day this will change and they will have a better system in place.

Surely a simple notification to existing holders of .co.uk domains would be the simpler step?

if someone wants to register markdrew.uk I should get an email since it is SO similar.

I think the WHOLE of the domain name system is broken. An example is markdrew.com. A domain I owned years ago and was “stolen”. It has now not been used for 10 years for anything but to request money to buy it. THIS cybersquatting should be made illegal.

good news. though i’m grateful to the german support team, i don’t know if it was their lack of knowledge regarding railo, a slight language barrier, or something else, but we had issues that really shouldn’t have been issues. at one stage i had support tell me that a railo file couldn’t be the default file on the railo server!! have the initial problems that existed on the railo server in germany been ironed out on the uk server?
